Who is Family Ministry?
Who is Family Ministry? Great question, isn’t it?
If you were lucky enough to be in church on Sunday you heard our Family Ministry Director, Nancy Varga, preach on this very question. I am sure you, like me, were blessed.
Nancy spoke about her passion for the family and how Family Ministry is not a program but rather the way we “do” church.
Here are a few key things she said:
“Family ministry is every season, every day, all times of the day, all ages, all stages, wrapping around like a vine and connecting all facets of our every day life.”
“Family ministry is followers of Jesus loving and caring and sharing and doing life with others.”
“Family ministry is made up of ‘our people’.”
And my absolute favourite quote:
“God wants to transform parents to transform their families to transform their communities.”
Did she answer the question ‘who is family ministry?’ She sure did. The answer is YOU are; SHE is; I am; WE ARE! We are family ministry.
Check out here message on our website. You will be so glad you did.
For those of you who want a good cry, here is the link to the video Nancy shared. I am not kidding when I suggest you have kleenex nearby ;)

We are family ministry. That’s how I see the church. The Gospel is given to engage our hearts, to change and enliven us. It is then to flow onto our children and the people in our midst and from there to our community and to the wider world. That is church. That is Family ministry….we are Family Ministry!

Join us this Sunday as we begin a three part sermon series on Habakkuk. You may be surprised of the major teaching from this minor prophet!
When you arrive on Sunday morning, you will see that the church will have been transformed into an amazing summer camp experience. The church has been buzzing with activity and excitement as we prepare for a powerful week of ministry to the children in our community.
Please let Nancy know if you have to time this week (or next) to help out, after all Egypt was not built in a day ;)
Please pray for our summer staff, for our wonderful volunteers and for the eager campers that will be arriving on July 11th.
