Happy New Year, God is with us!
"2016 was the best year ever!” said a friend.
“ Not for me, I am thrilled 2016 is over. It was the worst,” another friend piped in.
Whether you’ve just journeyed through the greatest year of your life, or you are relieved to see this one finally over, one truth remains. You are not alone. You never have been and you never will be.
Our God is a “with us" God. On the heels of celebrating the birth of our King we are reminded again that God came near. He is Emmanuel, God with us. And the power of that reminder can carry us right into a fresh, new start.
How important and good it is to remember that though things and people around us may shift and change, our God never changes.
Happy New Year, God is with us!
Take some time, as we begin this New Year, to meditate on these wonderful reminders that God is with you!
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lam. 3:22-23
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Is. 43:18-19
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jer. 29:11
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Is. 40:31
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Prov. 3:5-6
“May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” Ps. 20:4
